Sunset Television understands that going to dances can be weird and vaguely uncomfortable, and they play it up in their video for Beirut's “Vagabond”, a black-and-white clip that sees some Navy men on a shore leave that's even stranger than the rest of their year, when they live on enormous metal ships that can destroy the world. 

The band's horn-centric indie folk fits well on a community centre's stage, especially when it's the soundtrack to men chasing chickens, dancing awkwardly with girls that hate them, performing magical faux-pas, as well as a general sense of love that is either unrequited or dismissed outright in favor of getting drunk, puking, then drinking some more. Could the whole thing by the military to boost enlistment, like Top Gun and those commercials with Godsmack, but for indie music fans? I'll let you know as soon as I get back from the recruitment office.
