Real Housewives of New York City: Go Behind the Scenes of Their Sexy Photo Shoot

The Real Housewives of New York City has kicked of their fifth season of the hit Bravo show by replacing three original cast members.

Heather Thomson, Carole Radziwill and Aviva Drescher have joined veterans Ramona Singer, LuAnn de Lesseps and Sonja Morgan. To help celebrate, the ladies came together for an exclusive photo shoot with Us Weekly.

"I have to tell you, adding three new girls and losing three definitely changed the dynamics for the season," Singer told Us in behind the scenes video footage of their shoot. "Part of it is sad, but to tell you the truth, I embrace change. And this really is a phenomenal season because when you bring three new women into the group -- boy, do things happen!"

"I'm always happy to have new friends," Morgan said. And the Countess agreed. "I would say that I connected the most out of the three women, almost immediately, with Heather," she revealed. "We really got along really well."

But the original ladies still have their share of arguments with each other.

"If she wants to be a weekend mom that's her business. Probably I shouldn't have said anything, but the truth is the truth." Singer, 55, said of the amount of time the Countess, 47, spends with her French wine distributor boyfriend, Jacques Azoulay, 37. "She's passive aggressive, LuAnn. She pushes my buttons and tries to insinuate things about me that are totally not true. So, when I get upset I get 'Ramotional!' I can't help it, sorry!"

So, what do the new cast members -- think about the show? Watch the video and tell Us: What do you think of the revamped Real Housewives of New York City?

Gone are the days when item numbers used to be mere gyrating or shaking legs or flaunting sexy adayein or fab body. Now item songs are also about having naughty and cheeky catchword to top the competition. The latest to join the bandwagon is Madhur Bhandarkar's film HEROINE where, as per the reports, lead actor Kareena Kapoor will groove on the item song called Halkat Jawaani.

Here's the list of other hot item numbers which drew eyeballs not just for its sexy gyrations but also for the choice of slang operative words in the songs:

Can mums ever get their mojo back?

JO CASAMENTO

New mothers sometimes wonder if they will ever feel sexy again.

'I just don't feel like sex any more,'' says Lisa, a stay-at-home mother of three. ''Lately, it's been all about the kids, being a mum, being a wife, taking care of the house. When do you have time to get into something lacy?''

Today, 5½ years after the birth of my last child, I can honestly say I have never felt better.

I still haven't found time to exercise and I have mourned the loss of my former life BC (before children) but I've come full circle, squished through the mincer and popped out the other end happier than I've ever been.

I get to have a latte most school days and, heck, even go to the toilet uninterrupted.

Inconsequential tasks, you might think. But it took a long time to get here. And there is definitely a chunk of my life that went missing. As I write this, way past bedtime (I'm still barking at my son who is begging me to sit on the end of his bed), after a long afternoon of homework, swimming lessons, cooking, washing-up, reading books, getting uniforms ready - it says a great deal that I can laugh about it and still have the energy to meet my deadline.

It was only three years ago I would often wake up bleary-eyed in a racing car bed. Some nights it was a Dora bed and once or twice I even woke up crunched in a cot.

So, when waking up on your own pillow feels like one of life's major achievements, it's hard to feel sexy. It's hard to want to turn the lights down and have someone else grab at your breasts, when you've had twins sucking the life out of them all day.

You definitely leave your dignity at the delivery room door, as the saying goes. After giving birth, I was left with a body I not only didn't recognise but didn't like. It felt war-torn, ravaged, battle-scarred, saggy and covered in stretch marks. I missed the body

I had before. I yearned for it. In nine months, my body had gone from being sexy to functional. It's main function was as a source of nourishment. Not sexy.

Psychotherapist Jackie Furey sums up the conundrum: ''For a lot of women, they want to be allowed to be in a role of motherhood uninterrupted, especially when you give birth the first time. It's a reorganising of what is the main role.''

But how do you care when you are knee-deep in a bucket of NapiSan and can't be bothered changing your baby vomit-encrusted top? Is it really possible to escape the tired-mum syndrome that defines so many of us?

One person who refuses to fit that tag is GP and mum of six (yes, you heard right, they range from six to 19) Ginni Mansberg. She says the one thing women have in common is they put themselves last.

''Women go to the end of the world to take their children to basketball practice or be there for their mother/sister/best friend/husband but when it comes to themselves they don't place a value on it,'' she says.

''It isn't until you see your own value in the family and that your role is central to the wellbeing of everyone else.''

Mansberg, whose book How to Get Your Mojo Back is due out in April, has what she calls her aeroplane theory: ''They always say fit your own mask first and then your children's in an emergency. Airlines have worked out that everybody dies if mum is not OK - but women haven't.''

She recommends exercise. ''It's a stress buster, it increases your libido, promotes weight loss and you'll sleep better.''

There are two overriding things women present for in Mansberg's surgery. The first is that painful sex can be a deterrent. ''If sex hurts, come and see a GP,'' she says. ''We can sort it out. Don't put up with it.''

And second, Mansberg says, is educating blokes: ''Girls can't go from zero to 100 in two seconds flat. If we've got snotty-nosed kids and we're mopping up congealed Weet-Bix in the sink left over from breakfast while doing homework with the older kids, how do you expect your libido at 10.30pm at night?

Plan it. Make it an incentive for your partner to come home early so he can help you with everything and then start with a back tickle, or a talk, and you're more likely to feel romantic in a period over an hour or two.''

If all else fails, the down-to-earth GP recommends turning the lights off and closing your eyes - saying communication is key.

And Furey couldn't agree more, calling those kinds of conversations ''comfortably uncomfortable discussions''.

''Have a chat before you give birth - it's an uncomfortable discussion but a necessary one,'' she says. ''Welcome to the world of motherhood.''

So, girls, there will be a time when dusty stilettos lining the cupboard will come into their own again and the Haviana thongs will be relegated to the back of the closet - or at least inside your handbag for a few hours a week.
