WENN.com She’s one of Hollywood’s golden girls with her smouldering good looks and curvaceous bod, but Scarlett Johansson has said that being so beautiful doesn’t always work to her advantage. The actress has insisted that her stunning appearance has occasionally impacted her career in a bad way, causing her to miss out on roles such as 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo' she was ‘too sexy.’
Director of the movie, David Fincher, discussed the sultry star in an interview with Vogue, saying she would have been "too distracting" for the audience if she had been cast in the film.
"Look, we saw some amazing people. Scarlett Johansson was great. It was a great audition, I'm telling you."
"But the thing with Scarlett is, you can't wait for her to take her clothes off," he explained. "I keep trying to explain this. Salander should be like E.T. If you put E.T. dolls out before anyone had seen the movie, they would say, 'What is this little squishy thing?'"
The 27-year-old 'Lost In Translation' star says: "That has happened to me before, yeah. That’s always an unfortunate thing to figure out. 'Why can’t you see?' For me, I would imagine casting someone, you would want to challenge yourself in some way."
"It is so interesting to see actors transform. There are certainly plenty of times when I am definitely not sexy." Yeah sure, Scarlett…
And despite her first world problem, the blonde bombshell does take care of herself and says that the secret to her looks are staying healthy, but not being too harsh on herself when it comes to diet and exercise.
"I live a relatively healthy lifestyle I think. Ish. I’m not overly strict. I like to go out and enjoy myself and drink a couple of glasses of wine and stay out late occasionally and eat a slice of cake," she said. "I work out and eat well most of the time and try to get some rest."
However, film director Cameron Crowe managed to look past Scarlett’s iconic curves, breathy voice and golden locks as he cast her as zookeeper Kelly in 'We Bought A Zoo', released on DVD this week.
