Pippa Middleton Wears Sexy Red Dress at Scottish Wedding

For whatever reason, Pippa Middleton seems to always steal the spotlight at other people's weddings.

More than a year after her older sister, Kate, and Prince William tied the knot, the British party planner, 28, looked ravishing in red at Camilla Hook and Sam Holland's nuptials in East Lothian, Scotland Saturday.

Pippa's raspberry wrap dress looked reminiscent of the navy Issa design Kate, 30, wore when she announced her engagement to William, 29, in November 2010. For Saturday's ceremony, she wore an intricate fascinator featuring three red roses and a black veil.

The Celebration author, who attended Hook and Holland's wedding with a female companion, completed her look with black pumps.

In April, William's sister-in-law was involved in a bizarre gun controversy -- giggling in an Audi convertible in Paris as the driver waved a semiautomatic pistol at a photographer. "This is embarrassing for them," a royal source told Us Weekly, who added that the event had "put Kate in a very difficult position."

Since then, Pippa has maintained a relatively low profile -- something she hadn't been able to do since her sister's April 29, 2011 wedding. "Kate feels guilty Pippa can't just slip back into normal life," royal watcher Katie Nicholl told Us.

Too sexy for prom? Student disagrees with dress code

MISHAWAKA – What's too sexy when it comes to prom dresses? Formals are just weeks away and a local student can't go to one of them because of the dress code.

The young lady spent close to $400 on the dress. Add in alterations and accessories – she's invested in this evening.

And many women can feel for her. This is a big night in a young women's life. So when she was told she couldn't wear the dress of her dreams to the dance, she was heartbroken.

"When I tried it on, I knew this was it," said Kylie, a senior at Penn High School.

After three days and 50 dresses, Kylie found the perfect fit.  She's just weeks away from prom night.

"That’s what every senior lives for," Kylie said.

Kylie's boyfriend goes to Mishawaka High School, so she had two prom nights set in stone.

Until something got in the way: Her dress.

"I went to Mishawaka to see if it [the dress] is ok,” she said. “I don't think it shows that much skin. Penn doesn't have a dress code so I didn't think much of it.”

Mishawaka High School said her dress was too risqué.

"They said you need to cover up the sides or I can’t let you in," Kylie said.

Mishawaka has a strict prom dress code. It says, "Girls may not wear dresses that show their midriff."

"We call them ‘the hoochie dresses,’” said Greta Claey of Greta’s Bridal in Mishawaka. “We're not into that."

Owner Claey prides her selection on tasteful evening gowns. Kylie actually got her dress there.

"99 percent of the time we look at it like this: What would Dad want to see his daughter in?" Claey said.

“My Dad is really strict,” Kylie said.  “I have a curfew still, and I’m 18. I'm daddy's little girl and even with the skin showing, he was perfectly fine with it. He started crying because he loved it so much."

Kylie said girls buy their prom dresses month in advance, so schools should engrain this dress code issue in students’ minds early on in the semester to be proactive.

"Putting it on their website - or sending a letter home," Kylie said.

School City of Mishawaka said this notice with dress code guidelines has been available for two months.

Kylie's plans for prom night at Mishawaka are at a standstill until she figures out an alternative plan.

"I can’t afford another dress,” Kylie said. “I’m in high school."

School City of Mishawka said the prom dress code is not a new rule – it has been around for years.

Regarding Kylie's dress, they said she could wear the dress if she covers the sides where her skin is showing.
